Anne Podevyn is a contemporary artist and expresses herself in drawing and painting with oil on canvas or wood, ink and watercolour on paper. She added paintings inspired on Japanese calligraphy to her oeuvre. The sources of her artistic expression can be live model drawings, memories, personal encounters, perception of the world around her. They are inspiration for energetic impulses, emotions recorded in paint. Works can be figurative or abstract. Artistic creation is like an inner dialogue, a transfer of energy. The human figure and human condition are an endless source of inspiration. A narrative that opens itself to interpretation.
"Painting is poetry, poetry is painting"
“The artist is like someone who walks around with an imaginary museum in his head and shapes his images from memory and recognition.” Quote by Julien Coulommier.
